When I was a wee one

I always thought folks were silly for thinking of Christmas before December. Thanks to my darling 17 month old nephew, I have thoroughly changed my mind. I remember Christmas time when I was a kid. I couldn't WAIT until Christmas morning. At night, I would toss and turn wishing it was time to open the presents. I would wonder if I could hear the reindeer flying through the sky, and how Santa would get into our house without a chimney. The anticipation and excitement of it all was always there.

Now, I don't have my own children, but Ethan, my nephew is close enough for now. And I just want to fill him with all the happiness and goodness than I can. So, I've thought about all kinds of things that I could give him or do for him that would accomplish this. By the way, it will never be "accomplished" because I intend to love him as much as possible forever and forever!

I think the anticipation is here again, only I found another thing to anticipate. Did you know that Santa will write your child a letter??!! I mean, think of the excitement and joy of receiving a letter from Santa Claus! If I was still a kid, I would be on top of the world if Santa thought to write me a letter.

Get a Personalized Letter from Santa!

In fact, if you buy two, you get one free! And hurry because this special ends today!

Stop Working so Hard!

As I go along, mixing up life, the work and the play, sometimes it becomes work...just because it takes work to stay focused. The World Wide Web is so wide, I could stay sidetracked forever. But, I find that a little fun keeps my spirits up, refreshes me for the next mountain to climb (or go around again hehe).

So, I'll close my mouth and introduce to you this really neat game I found. Have you ever played Tetris? Well, even my mother who is seriously gung ho on routines, has been known to stay up really late (like 3 or 4 AM) playing Tetris.

DESK DROP is a fast paced arcade game where the objective is to match up three similar tiles by moving and rotating them vertically as they drop from the top of the game board. Quick thinking and strategy is a must in Desk Drop to reach really high scores. The game is both addictive and fun for all ages. The top ten scoreboard records the Desk Drop Champions. Are you up to the challenge?

Who will I vote for in the 2004 Presidential Election?

I am outright voting for Bush. He's someone I trust. He is a real person and truly cares about doing what is right. I beleive that his faith in God is a reality, not some statement meant purely to "impress" people. He believes in standing up for what is truly right, and isn't afraid to say what he believes.

Furthermore, I trust the Vice President. The main reason he does lay low is because we are on an elevated terror alert. If something were to happen to Bush, we need Cheney. He's an older, experienced and knowledgeable person. I'm completely comfortable with him having to take the presidency if ever necessary.

Now I would NEVER vote for Kerry. He's the most wishy washy, elitest, snob and he has no backbone or beliefs of his own. He is already prepared to claim the victory. I heard on Rush Limbaugh's show that Kerry has a bunch of lawyers who will be posted at the polls in the battleground states. As soon as the votes go in, they will start claiming voter suppression and start demanding a recount.

Do you remember the chad incidents in Florida for the 2000 election? Expect to see it in those swing states this time.

God help us if we have a liberal president appointing liberal judges. We'll see abortion legalized, drugs legalized, and we'll lose the power we have in the world.

Go ahead and ask Kerry, who are you going to appoint as your security advisors? Haven't you said that the only way that we can say our troops die with honor and purpose,is if its under the U.N. flag?

How about young John Edwards for your vice president? What if Kerry couldn't be the prez anymore? I'm nearly shaking at the thought of Edwards running the country!!!

So, with my whole being, I'll vote for George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. And I'll watch after the election when it all gets tied up in the courts. And they debate whether or not the electoral college is constitutional or not.

Go BUSH!!!!!

Fun with Halloween

For the last seven or eight years, I didn't do Halloween. But, this year, we are going to pass out candy! I think I will carve a pumpkin and fire up candle or two. It will be a lot of fun. I don't have any kids to dress up, but my nephew is going to dress up like a puppy dog. He is about sixteen months old.

So, I'm going to the store to find some really cool candy, like Hershey's almond kisses, and some of those kiddie candies, whatever looks appealing to kids. I plan to be generous too! Five pieces or more is generous right? I'm not sure since I haven't done this in a long time.

I will be giving out some flyers with the candy too, especially since our DVD rental sites are officially LIVE. Don't get me wrong now. I am doing this partly to be able to spread the word. But I also want the joy of giving a treat and seeing the look on kid's faces. I get a good feeling when I give, and I want to feel good. The porch light will be on for once.

Time's running short today. I've got too much to do, and not enough time to get it all done.

Oh yes, did you see Shark Tale? It was a cute little movie. My sister and brother in law took my nephew to see it, but he wanted to play with the running lights. They left early hehe I LOVE my nephew! He's the CUTEST kid in the world! He makes me want a baby, SOON.

Come back soon. I want to tell you how my radio advertisement is going, and tell you who to vote for and why!

What should I do with this disappointment?

Yesterday was great. At least 3/4 of it. I went back to work at my part time job after two weeks off. Everyone was so happy to see me back, and I was really glad to see them too! I really didn't have a lot of catching up to do, thanks to the dedicated social workers and case managers that I work with. And then the evening fell apart. Three crappy things happened, but I'll tell you the worst of them.

My sponsor in Gold Entertainment is going on the Power Mom's Cruise. I've seen a few forum posts at Self Starters Weekly Tips and Carrie has blogged about it too. So, I thought, what a great idea! I'll go on the cruise. I have always wanted to go on one, and this would be the perfect one to go on.

I was ALL excited and told my husband all about it. Then he gave me some information that really ticked me off. See there is this thing, this unchangeable, unavoidable thing. We can't do ANYTHING about it. Nothing will change it. And this thing prevents me from going on this cruise. There is no negotiating with this thing, there is no moving around space, no compromising. So, I was angry most of the evening over this thing that prevents me from going on this cruise.

But before the big knock out, another event occurred that I sh0uldn't have even let get to me. I had a conversation with my mom, and her way of being really got on my nerves. I tried to influence her to be a bit more positive and not so blaming and fault finding with a co-worker, but she has such a one track mind. What's the problem, what's their problem, and why are they so bad. Its because they have problems. I guess people just have problems. So she justifies writing them off as someoneto just accept and love just as they are, even if they have faults. And justifies staying angry with them, and having this low opinion of them. That gets under my skin, for more personal reasons of course. After all, she is my mother.

So, I'm extremely disappointed at not being able to go on the cruise, and disappointed with my mother, and disappointed about another situation, which I will not discuss here.

Well, I'm a go getter, a fighter, a winner. I will not let these things slow me down. I will not let these events get in the way. I will find a way to deal with things. I will grow personally, and try to learn something. Maybe I will continue to feel disappointment. I especially hate things I cannot change. God, give me the courage to change the things I can, the willingness to accept what I cannot change, and the wisdom to know the difference. Dang, I can't remember that serenity prayer now.

Today will be a different day. It's the second day my radio commercial on Tiger Radio Online is running. That's for another post later. I figured out how to track my radio ads!

Using Internet Radio for your Business

Let's take an adventure into new territory. New to me at least. I often search ebay for cheap advertising deals. Often I find a lot of auctions for traffic and fewer auctions for text links or text ads. But, rarely available are the auctions for radio or television advertising.

So, I was very excited to stumble upon a few interesting opportunities. I bid and won an auction for radio advertising with TigerRadioOnline.com. So, I've waited all week for our retail sites to go up so that I would know where to send these listeners to. At last, we got the correct URLs and I hurridly sent it off to Jack Murphy at Tiger Radio Online. After waiting only a couple more days, my email shows a note from Jack and a little icon indicating an attached file. My breath caught and I opened it as fast as I could.

Now, my husband has these huge speakers im the living room. We have it all wired up so that we can hear sound from the computer in there. So, I clicked to open the file ASAP and heard the most awesome commercial ever!

Listen to it right here : Radio Commercial

Ok, Ok!!! I'm biased, yes, but oh so excited!!! This commercial begins running on Monday. I feel so lucky and blessed today.

Now that I'm done jumping up and down and yelling and screaming and clapping, let me get serious for a minute.

I have done a lot of research on radio advertising on the internet. A lot of it costs the same as regular radio advertising. And, you still need to know about the radio station listeners. Plus, sometimes there is a cost for producing the ad, and possibly some talent fees. Also find out how many and what kind of listeners they have.

I'll be posting about my results later. Hopefully friends, we will be gaining new satisfied customers at ABCDVD.info.

Thank you Tiger Radio Online for helping me break into radio advertising. Please
listen live and view the website at Tiger Radio Online.

Ooops, I Cheated!

Sorry folks, I couldn't wait for my readers to guess the Movie Trivia! And I am going mad (hahah) over those darn hammers.

I still can't figure out the hammers. But I'll have to go looking some more, unless you guys and gals can clue me in.

But, here's a link to a discussion on the interpretation of this movie. I found it to be very interesting.

Pink Floyd The Wall (1982)

I'm up a little late this morning, but already working hard. I sent out my twice daily ad to MasterAds, a safelist I'm testing out. I won an executive membership which means I get to send out emails every 12 hours. I think the free members can only send ads once every three or five days. Furthermore, they are placing my ad on the top of every other email sent out to the list, so I should get some exposure.

Your Insides are Showing!

Remember those theories I was talking about? Let me define "insides" for you. I mean your mind set, your world view, your self image, your wants, desires, and beliefs. Your insides DO show in everything produced by you. And if you ever say you aren't productive, you must be confused.

Every human produces something 24 hours a day! (LOL besides women producing babies!) I mean, your insides have an effect on everything around you! If you are angry at someone, then your anger produces a reaction, in yourself and the other person!

So, let's see if we can apply this concept to entrepreneurship. Business is about relationships! When you believe you are someone, then other people believe it too. And when you are secure in other's (and your own) acceptance of yourself, then you have the ability to invest in relationships.

Personally, I have found over the years (like I'm SO old) that as my self image got better, so has my relationships. In turn, I have more to invest into my business, which is ALL about people. I love me, I can love you too.

Its really not so mushy if you understand how I define love. That's a whole 'nother blog!

Remember the post on "Movie Trivia"? I still can't figure out the hammers!

Movie Trivia

My dear husband (DH hereafter) and I rented an old movie that I had never seen before. I heard things about this movie that made me not want to watch it. For example "There is hardly any talking in it." How about this comment? "It isn't normal!" So, I began to watch with mucn trepidation. Of course, Dale, my DH, had seen it before and only laughed. All these symbols caused several gut reactions.

I really have this identification with the main character. His primal and cellural level desire for acceptance rang so true to me. I think I've felt all the feelings he did. The movie got too up close and personal for me. I can't say I really understood it, but it brought up some very powerful emotions.

Because of this mixture of emotion, it was hard to focus on all the ideas in the movie. And I just can't figure out what those endless hammers mean?

Can you guess what this movie is? Can you tell me what the hammer means? The trivia answer is easy to get! Just syndicate this site. Later today, what does all this up close and personal gushy mushy stuff have to do with entrepreneurship??? I have my theories and plan to blog all about it in the days ahead.

Meanwhile, a note on the Presidential Debates last night. Here is the transcript from NPR. I still believe in Bush. Kerry is contradiction city, especially when he starts blathering about his personal beliefs and not pushing them on others. He's spineless, and I could never trust him as my President. I think you should stand up for something and it should show in how you live and how you act. It is right to say that something is right or wrong!

On with life!

I'm chasing down the Jones'

Today, through the comments of some friends I decided to catch up with the Jones'! I always wanted to somehow share some of the thoughts that go through my busy mind. So here I am, Melanie Roum. I wear a TON of hats, and plan to write about all kinds of things. But, I think the main focus of this blog will be on Network Marketing and doing business on the internet. For once, my own ideas and thoughts will be available to all!

I love to have fun, and sometimes find myself addicted to it! I love playing canasta on Yahoo and play a few PC games too. I've been through the Play Station all nighters and building an empire with CIV III. Self help books take up some time too!

Hope you enjoy reading my up close and personal notes! Visit me again soon!
